There was a thorough phone screening: my English language skills and previous experience were checked, and my tech stack was also checked. This took about 15 minutes, part of which was an explanation of the company's benefits package. On the phone we made an appointment for a second, final round, which was attended by a tech lead, a people lead, and an HR colleague. The duration of the interview was 75 minutes.
It was an absolutely positive experience: the interview allowed me to talk in-depth about my previous experience, hobby projects, and work style. There was some English dialogue, but only a few sentences.
About 30 minutes of the interview was about Java and my experience.
After the tech interview, I was asked behavioral questions.
Overall, my experience was very positive. About 1 hour after the interview, I received a clarification phone call: they asked about the sum of all my work experience as a Java developer. I was a bit disappointed because it seemed that my level of knowledge didn't matter, but that wasn't the case.
The next morning I got the offer, the top of my salary range and lots of benefits. Finally, freelance experience was included, so I got a medior position.
I like that it's almost an instant decision, you're approved in 1 hybrid online round. I ended up doing so well that the people lead specifically asked me to join their team.
