      Copywriter Interview

      5 Aug 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Buffalo, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Derrick (Buffalo, NY) in Jul 2025

      Interview

A very long and difficult interview process that seemed to constantly change because additional steps and interviews and tests were added. The test was added somewhat last minute and wasn't used or discussed as part of the interview process, so it felt like doing work for free. The worst part was an all-day interview made up of several half-hour interviews, which is tiring as a candidate to have already been through 4 interviews and a test to then have to go through an additional 10 more interviews to determine if you're a good culture fit. Some of the people in the interview didn't know why they were added to the interview or what questions to ask. This entire process was worsened by the fact that an offer was not made because they changed the type of candidate they were looking for after going through over 10 interviews.

      Question 1

A lot of questions about collaboration and process for picking up the brand's voice and tone.
