I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Delta Air Lines (Atlanta, GA) in May 2014
Interview
I applied to Delta in late April. I received a phone call/ phone interview on April 28. I received a email 4 days later saying they would like for me to do a video interview by May 4th. After I completed the video interview, Delta called me 3 days later and invited me to attend a face-to-face interview that Friday at their headquarters in Atlanta. Delta paid for the flight to and from Georgia but I was responsible for the hotel. The interview was set for 730am- I was there at 7am.
You check in, get a name tag and wait in the lobby with the other 50 or so candidates. They split you up into groups and each group goes through three processes. One process is a group Q and A, one process where you learn more about Delta and the job responsibilities, and the last is a 2-on-1 interview. They have you do a reach test as well and they take your picture. They will also ask if you have any visible tattoos.
The whole process took about 5 hours. At the end, they'll ask some of the candidates to stay behind and those are the people that are offered conditional job offers. They all thank you and tell you to check your email but at that point you're just waiting for a "thank you but no thank you" letter.
I was dressed very professional- nice fitted navy suit with a crisp white collard shirt. My nails were painted, my hair was pulled up in a slicked back pony-tail and I wore a simple pair of stud earrings.
I smiled the whole time, was very friendly, personable and professional. I interacted with as many people as I could- Delta staff as well as other candidates. Its so hard to tell what type of people they are looking for. Some of the people they chose weren't people I would have thought were good candidates.
I felt like I had done well in all areas and believe that my tattoo is what may have prevented me from getting offered a job.
Overall it was a great, positive experience-I learned a lot.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Name a time when you had to react quickly to a customer- related situation.
Name a time when you were a leader and had to delegate tasks.
Name a time when you had to handle a situation when your boss was not around to assist you.
I am currently in the interview process for the FA position and have reached the ODV part of it. Most of the questions are expierenced based, so I would recommend just thinking of the times you have exceeded the customer service baseline before hand.
