I applied online. I interviewed at Deftpower in Mar 2026
Interview
It seems this 2-star company really lives up to its reputation. I had two interviewers; while the female interviewer was fine, the male interviewer was the most arrogant interviewer I’ve ever met. He repeatedly interrupted and doubted my answers, which made it impossible to express myself normally in such a tense atmosphere.
When it was my turn to ask questions, he impatiently said I could only ask two, even though there was still half an hour left before the scheduled end time. For someone in a senior position, his own answers were quite poor—it’s hard to understand where that arrogance comes from. They rejected me, and I feel lucky that I didn’t waste more time. Who would want to work for a company that (as other reviewers mentioned) has such a severe gender imbalance, lacks diversity, and is too narrow-minded to show basic respect?
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Deftpower (Berlin) in Jul 2025
Interview
I had an overall positive interview process: a call with the recruiter, followed by a conversation with one of the founders, then a case study presentation, and finally the opportunity to join a full team meeting. I appreciated the openness and the chance to get a real feel for the team and company dynamics.
The company is still in an early stage when it comes to shaping its internal culture. One noticeable issue is the significant gender imbalance - teams are overwhelmingly male. This unfortunately contributes to a lack of diverse perspectives, reduced emotional intelligence of interactions.
While the product and business potential are strong, I unfortunately experienced a lack of respect and low morale in some interactions.

Nothing too tricky: I was asked to tell about myself & experience
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Deftpower (Arnhem) in Feb 2024
Interview
Initially, it was agreed that the first interview would be conducted onsite at Deftpower's offices in Arnhem. I dedicated a significant portion of my day to travel to the location, investing both time and money into the process. Upon arrival, I had a productive discussion with the CTO, who provided valuable insights into the project.
Despite my enthusiasm and the effort I invested in preparing for and attending the interview, what followed was disheartening. Following the interview, there was a complete lack of communication from Deftpower's end. Weeks passed without any updates or feedback on the status of my application.
This prolonged silence was not only frustrating but also reflected poorly on Deftpower's professionalism and respect for candidates' time. As someone genuinely interested in the opportunity, I expected at the very least a courteous follow-up, even if it was to convey a decision or provide feedback.
It is disheartening to see a company neglect such a fundamental aspect of the hiring process – clear and timely communication with candidates. Effective communication not only reflects positively on the company's image but also fosters trust and respect between both parties involved.
In conclusion, my experience with Deftpower's recruitment process was marked by disappointment due to the lack of follow-up and communication. I hope that this feedback prompts the company to reevaluate its approach and prioritize respectful and transparent communication with future candidates.
