I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Deel (Yerevan, Yerevan) in May 2024
Interview
Recruiter interview, 48-hour take-home task, technical interviews. I decided not to move forward with the take-home task, as it was unpaid and could take ~10-20 hours of my time. Overall the recruiter was transparent regarding the interview process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
1. What's your experience with Node.js/Typescript
2. As a remote company, we hire staff worldwide, what is your desired location for work?
3. Do you want to start the take-home task?
1 technical interview, then another interview with the team lead, one cultural fit interview with senior management. There was no leetcode at all but conversations and direct questions. Overall interviewee friendly
I applied online. I interviewed at Deel in Feb 2026
Interview
The interviewer showed up 5 minutes late and had the most arrogant attitude I have ever experienced in a hiring process. Big red flag. Constantly interrupting me over small details. Demeaning attitude, not a single smile. It's like they wanted me to fail and feel under pressure. It's okay to discuss different views on architecture. But nitpicking the syntax and tiny details was simply not helpful to anyone. If that's the culture, I dodged a bullet.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The technical constraints and how it fit the overall platform architecture. That was actually a fair question.
