They will call you in to meet with the head of the department, then if that goes well you will meet with the supervisor, then shift supervisor. If that all goes well they will have you go for testing - aptitude and drug screens. After all that they will bring you in for a group training. EVS gets forgotten about so you will be with the nurses for training.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Jun 2021
Interview
The process is not long or hard but they will sweet talk you to the end of time. They make promises they will never keep and make you feel guilty if you question anything.
I applied in-person. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Deborah Heart and Lung Center
Interview
It was quite confusing (being given the wrong interview address, being told by HR at interview that this is a patient transport position but being told otherwise by other interviewers, receiving a rejection letter then being told by HR they sent it by mistake). The people I spoke with were fantastic, inspirational, and I would have loved to work with them. When I called to follow up 1 month later, I was told that I did not have as much experience as they would like (I have over 3 years informatics and RN experience, 1.5 is through my masters' clinical site at which I was hired to continue the same work due to my performance during my clinicals). I was advised that another more experienced candidate may be chosen instead of me so I backed out since I already had an offer and couldn't wait. Their job listing on most recruitment sites say "entry-level" with no nursing informatics working experience in the requirements, but at interview I was told I would need to work independently from the get-go and there was only 1 other informatics staff who was only part time. I was warned I may receive little support which is not something one would expect from an entry level position.
Interview questions seemed to heavily emphasize on asking if I had EHR building and in person staff training experience. It is very uncommon for nurse informaticists to build, so please do make a note when you go interview.
