The phone interview was pretty standard and straightforward, and HR was very nice explaining the position. She asked my experience with Twitter and journalistic background, and why am i interested at Dataminr. I got a second interview with the manager of the team I will be working at. She is a bit distant and cold, I feel. Her questions are divided into information processing and events that are going on in the region that I am applying for. I feel it is a bit unfair that she only asked specific politics related questions without actually taking my academic and cultural background into considerations. She was asking my predictions and opinions on certain ongoing events , but at the same time she said she was not asking for my political views. I googled her experiences and I know she is an expert in the field, but it is not really fair to keep all the questions on politics - it's her explaining to me that Dataminr deal with all kinds of information, then the questions should be of a variety of topics. If anyone is interested in applying for DE, it's better you have some opinions on the current event, not just be aware of what's going on. The HR did not reply to me at all and five days later i got a rejection letter.

Had a first interview which went really well, then had a test which went great too, then had an interview with a Senior Director and the interview went really well and I had all the skills required but I was rejected. I was very confused and asked for feedback but never received any. Impossible to get in touch with anyone and the only person who would assist referred me to the HR person who never answered my request. Would recommend that the company and the people they hire put more effort into answering emails and providing a way to communicate with the people who interviewed you.
