I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at DataArt (Saint Petersburg, Sankt-Peterburg) in Oct 2014
Interview
The interview consisted of 5 parts:
1) HR interview regarding experience and personality
2) Technical interview (technical questions and programming tasks)
3) Language check interview by phone with person from another site
4) Customer pre-interview (english/technical)
5) Interview with customer from the office
and I also have additional interview with the customer (she called me at home).
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
I did not expect extra call from the customer to me after official interview. She described me the future task and asked me several questions.
The latest programming task was quite difficult. It was the code with several missed statements to correct. (I resolved it just because I had had experience in this narrow area)
Me contactaron por linkedin con el mensaje genérico típico de que les gusta el perfil. Luego me hicieron agendar un día y hora. La entrevista fue un desastre, no tenés nada de feedback, no recomiendo, las de RRHH son de terror.

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at DataArt (New York, NY) in Dec 2025
Interview
The interview lasted about 1 hour and 30 minutes. During the session, I was asked to solve a C# challenge involving modeling and implementing an application through live coding while explaining my design decisions and reasoning.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What are the trade-offs between a monolithic architecture and distributed systems, and when would you choose one over the other?
The first interview went pretty well, the recruiter was nice and they asked me to move to a technical interview. But after reviewing some of the requirements they make regarding the contract type I was too skeptical and decided not to move forward.

Are you willing to accept a certain contract type?
