I was genuinely excited about this opportunity. I prepared for the interview, conducted my research, and took time off to ensure I could show up fully present. I waited for over 15 minutes. No one showed.
I reached out to the sr. recruiter to check in and see if we could reschedule, and I never received a response, not even a quick note acknowledging the miss. Being ignored after investing my time and energy was honestly disappointing and discouraging. It made me question how candidates and even employees are valued.
What’s hard is that this was an employer branding role. Experiences like this leave a lasting impression, both as a candidate and consumer. Ghosting isn’t just inconvenient; it damages trust, pushes candidates away, and creates a lasting negative impression of the company. It also contradicts the values the organization publicly promotes around accountability and continuous improvement.
I’m sharing this because every interaction shapes someone’s view of your brand, and I hope the company takes candidate communication more seriously in the future.
