The process went smoothly until they started asking technical questions and discussing what they do. I believe they have selected the best candidate, or perhaps my salary expectation was above their budget. Of course, the cheaper option would be chosen.
Besides that, they asked for more information, including a recent payslip with details of bonuses received. I think this should not be disclosed again. If you refuse to share it, you might be seen as a red flag. In my opinion, such requests should not be too intrusive, as they involve confidential information. Unless the company offers a competitive salary with better bonuses and allowances, such details should not be required.
