I recently applied for a role at Disco and had a mixed experience. Initially, after applying, there was a lack of communication for a couple of weeks, which left me uncertain about the status of my application. However, after reaching out to a manager for a referral, I was promptly contacted by a recruiter for an interview. The recruiter I spoke with was more empathetic than most and made the initial call quite pleasant. However, it took almost a week after the interview to hear back that the team would not be moving forward with an onsite interview. While I didn't fully understand the decision based on the questions asked, I appreciated the communication. Overall, my experience with Disco was more pleasant than with most other tech companies nowadays. The recruiter's empathy stood out, and despite some communication issues, I felt the process was respectful. I would recommend giving Disco a try if you're looking for a company that values empathy in their recruitment process.
