I applied on January 14th and I received a request for work samples on February 25th. I had an interview with the CEO a month later. It was very straightforward, but she was texting (a client, apparently) almost the entire time. Gave a bad first impression. After the interview, I was asked to complete a writing test that included multiple original blog posts, a pitch and reporter research. In my opinion, that is a lot for an unpaid internship at the small, boutique agency.

Initially, there was a phone interview about one to two weeks after my application was submitted. Then I was notified of a video interview that would be conducted with other team members. Following the video interview I was given a post-interview assignment to complete and showcase my skills.
