Member of their product team reached out directly to me and said I should take a call with them even if only slightly interested. Was handed over to a recruiter for screening. Pretty sure the recruiter was outsourced or not having a good day because he was robotic and seemed to read off a script. The screen was mostly informational and I didn’t get any hard questions, mostly yes/no questions like “Do you feel comfortable giving presentations?” Or “Will you need a visa?” Etc.. I actually was quite interested in learning more about the software platform being built and exploring ways I could provide enablement to the staff. But we never got there. Next day I got an email saying they wouldn’t be moving forward. Very unusual to get a warm outreach from a product leader and then get stopped after a 30 minute phone screen with a non-technical recruiter. Ultimately a waste of time. Typically you are moved along through the interview process after getting outreach from the hiring team or hiring manager. At least they reject swiftly.
