Pulled some connections to be able to make it to the recruiter at least. We chatted and it was great. Then I was told the hiring manager wanted someone with more exposure to crypto (despite the only mentioning of crypto in the JD to be the name of the company). I thought it was over until I got a message from another recruiter - "congrats, you are moving ahead". Ok, weird but let's see. The recruiter didn't ask me about availability and picked up a time and day on their choosing. It was 9pm due to time difference. I was like, ok, given the rare opportunity, let's take it.
The HM was pretty sharp, a little arrogant and said the only reason for this position to be in the US (given the product teams are in HK and SG) was because of the time difference (they didn't want to talk to partners in the middle of their night). Not very motivational but ok. Interview didn't go well but it was my fault since I wasn't at my best level at that time of the day. I didn't expect any positive news afterwards but wasn't expecting that I wouldn't be receiving any news at all. Asked the recruiter a few times and they never responded.
All in all, super (negative) weird experience for a company that is all over through ads and presenting itself as a great place to work.
