      Senior Software Engineer Interview

      28 Apr 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Singapore
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Crypto.com (Singapore) in Apr 2022

      Interview

Technical Round 1 - Spoken with some person in Shenzhen Technical Round 2 - Spoken with some person in Shenzhen. A small technical exercise on learning an eccentric programming language on the fly and then creating a small program. Both very similar process. Went through background experience and some technical random questions. Making sure there's no red flags or bs on resume. There wasn't a cultural fit round. I interviewed when they were on hiring frenzy in 2022 I had an offer immediately but had to wait a little bit because I had over interviews going on. Once all my interview results came in, tried negotiating with Crypto.com as their total yearly salary offer was almost exact match with my current comp. 1. They rejected the negotiation number that I provided. (Which would be 10% more) of my current yearly total comp. 2. Then I accepted their initial offer (which was given the week before). They came back and said the HR TA Team in Singapore blocked the approval as they compared the salary with the "locals" and my compensation was way too high. They lowered the initial offer they gave by another 10%. So basically I would be downgraded if I move from my current company which is in Singapore. HR Singapore Talent Acquisition Team is pathetic. It is already unprofessional to lower the initial offer despite it being verbal. And the reason they gave is so draconian without looking at my current compensation (I even gave the required documents did they even bother to do calculations on their end?). Makes me wonder if the Singapore TA team is full of retired old people who came from the military. There's little data point about the WLB and culture of this company in public, I actually had very optimistic outlook of the company until I came across this interview experience. No thanks. Top Engineers should look elsewhere, don't waste your time because they wouldn't be able to afford you.

      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

      I interviewed at Crypto.com (Taipei)

      Interview

The interview process started with an initial HR screening, followed by a take-home homework assignment. After submitting the assignment, I had a technical interview with an engineer to walk through my solution and discuss technical details. Next was an interview with the hiring manager, and the process concluded with an offer.

      Senior Software Engineer Interview

      29 Sept 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Taipei
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Crypto.com (Taipei) in Jul 2025

      Interview

Overall Experience & Process Integrity 😠 The entire hiring process took approximately one to two months. I applied for a Senior Ruby on Rails position despite having no prior career experience in the crypto field. I was upfront about this from the very beginning of the interview process and was assured it would not be a deal-breaker. Funnily enough, after completing all rounds of their hiring process—with the final meeting being strictly for cultural fit—I was rejected. The reason provided was that they were ultimately looking for a candidate with more crypto experience. It makes absolutely no sense that I would pass the initial HR screening, two technical rounds (one assessment and one discussion with team members), proceed to a cultural fit interview, and then be rejected for a lack of experience. Given that the technical interviews didn't even heavily focus on crypto knowledge, what was the point of the extensive process? The inconsistency suggests a serious lack of structural integrity in their hiring approach. Concerns About Professionalism and Stability 🚩 Throughout the interview process, I was wary of the numerous negative reviews citing bad management and a toxic work culture. I can unfortunately attest to the lack of professionalism, as my interview experience alone demonstrated no clear structure or integrity in the process. Furthermore, I was told by the Senior VP that the company drops the bottom X% of performers every quarter. If you are looking for stability, you should absolutely stay away from this company. Huge red flag! Interview Process Breakdown 1. HR Screening 2. Take Home Coding Assessment (Technical) 3. Interview with team members (Technical & Experience-related discussions) 4. Culture fit questions with Senior VP (Final Round)

      Interview

First, there was an HR interview to understand your background. Second, there is a technical interview with certain team members. For my technical interview, there was a high-level systems design discussion. Finally, there is an interview with management to determine if you are a good culture fit
