I spent a good amount of time responding their challenges and questions during one of their online tournaments in a Saturday (around 6 hrs on that). They told me they only have online tournaments, if there’s a big pool of positions they need to cover. Next Monday night, I received an email saying I’m now part of the marketplace (Welcome to Crossover! - it said). I was super happy and it mentioned the hiring manager was gonna contact me very soon.
After getting really excited (because I previously had tried their challenges but failed), I spent weeks and weeks with no news. However that interview invite never arrived. After 6 weeks and a half with the same response (“A hiring manager will connect with you very soon!!”), I figured out that invite will never come.
I tried a second time with a different role and got exactly in the same situation once again. It’s so disappointing that they don’t care about the time spent by the candidates. It seems they just want to have a large pool of possible employees, but they ask you to spend lots of time to get there, supposedly to be part of the top 1%.
They keep saying they are hiring lots of people from Asia and Eastern Europe, but I haven’t seen many joins from all over the Americas (their salary is too good for that area - specially in Latam). Could it be they just want to hire from there? (Maybe the new managers are protecting their people and are only giving the opportunities for them?) I don’t know I’m suspicious on what’s going on.
All this is really making me wonder how they will treat you as an employee, specially after reading all the reviews from previous and current employees.
Maybe after all, it will definitely not be the best place for me and for many others
