I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Crelate (Seattle, WA) in Aug 2022
Interview
A fairly productive interview with the architect.
An entirely unproductive interview with an angry-seeming junior software engineer.
That would have been part of an interview loop going up to the CEO had I continued with it.

Question 1
Stone cold into a recursive linguistic tree problem that required multiple classes, discussion, diagramming, and iterative build/inspection approach, but had to do it in a flat web page with none of the usual tools you would use to query, plan, and resolve it.
A waste of time off work with a convoluted high school problem unrelated to real-world day-to-day duties.
Mostly about making the interviewer feel like the cleverest person in the room, so I bowed out.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Crelate
Interview
Typically the process is a few weeks. The HR team will often kick off initial screens before moving to a team lead/manager. From there, the will often have a panel interview made up of several different teams with varying level of experience.

Question 1
Name a time you did something that was not your job.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Crelate in Mar 2021
Interview
Had a positive interview experience meeting with their panel of interviewers. Each person I interacted with from recruiter to CEO were friendly and thoughtful in their responses to my questions. They made HR/recruiting tech seem interesting . The initial interviews were super informative and prepared me well for subsequent interviews. The panel was very transparent about expectations, startup culture and demands of the role. Expect to meet with pairs during the panel. This was slightly intimidating because I was being intensely peppered with prepared questions from both. The entire process happened quickly but it dragged out toward the end stages. The communication was great however. Only knock are benefits and compensation. I understand that they are a startup but the salary range presented to me during the first interview was lower than expected compared to other places I was interviewing with. I ended up taking an offer that paid about 15% more base w/ bonus. I get that people who work there are not in it for money but it matters. I am glad I did not have to make a decision between Crelate and my current employer although I am not sure if it would have changed anyway

Question 1
A lot of questions asked are related to their company values.
