      Clinical Lab Assistant- Accessioner Interview

      10 Jul 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Counsyl

      Interview

I applied online via Indeed.com in the beginning of May and received an email from Counsyl towards the middle of May saying I sparked their interest. They sent me a link to begin their interview process and the first step was a basic computer skills quiz. The quiz is to test if you know how to use a computer and research online so if you do, you shouldn't have any problems. After the quiz, I was emailed a week later asking to set up a Skype interview. The Skype interview took roughly 10-15 minutes and the questions were basically: 1) Introduce yourself, 2) Why are you interested in Counsyl, 3) Why do you feel qualified for this position…4) Where do you see yourself in 5 years? All of the questions were pretty standard and expected of any interview. After the Skype interview I was contact a week after to set up an On-Site interview and from this point on, I dealt with the recruiter. As I came in for the on-site interview, I was given a tour first. I must say, the on-site interview at Counsyl was the best interview experience I've ever had. The interview was formatted in a panel but it felt more like a conversation between colleagues than anything else. I went through 3 people total, the first interviewer wasn't from the department and the other 2 were going to be working directly with you. After the interview, the recruiter came in and walked me out and basically told me that if I did well on the interview that the final step was referencing. I was contacted a week later and they told me that I was moving on to the referencing process and so I provided references to them. This is where everything became iffy. I emailed the recruiter a week after I sent my references in to check the status and she indicated that they're still doing interviews but will get back to me and let me know. A week passed, and I thought they had forgot about me and turns out they did. I emailed back again asking for the status and this time I was told that the interviews just finished and that I would hear back from her early the following week. I waited until the end of that same week to email and check in once again only to find that they decided to move on with another candidate...
