A brief call to arrange a phone interview followed by in person interview. Because I essentially removed myself during the phone interview I did not have an in person. The phone interview itself was easy enough. The person interviewing was pleasant, and the questions were not at all unusual when I was asked the question that caused me to no longer want the position. There was no unpleasant reaction from the interviewer.

Question 1
I only went as far as the phone interview. They never asked me for an in person interview and I’m sure it’s because of how I answered this question. First they explained how they change shifts every quarter - you’re on first shift, then second, etc. Then they stated that this particular position covered vacations for all shifts. So you might be on first this week and third next week then back to first etc. The question was “is this something you might be interested in”
I applied online. I interviewed at Corning in Jan 2026
Interview
Very lengthy process with minimal communication between stages. The interview process spanned approximately three months from application to final decision. I received an automated rejection email about 3 weeks after the in-person interview.
I visited the site, got a tour, met with several managers for Evals, each around 30 mins. Technical interview was pretty easy. The total process took half a day but it was all 1 on 1 interviews with different managers.
