      UI User Experience Designer Interview

      24 Oct 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Melbourne
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Concentrix (Melbourne) in Aug 2019

      Interview

Arrogant and dismissive. After a phone call with the internal talent acquisition manager, I had an interview in the office with the team. I got asked to rank my skills on a whiteboard and present my portfolio. The next round they emailed a potential real life brief and asked to spend between 3-4 days. The brief entailed presenting wireframes, research and working prototype of high fidelity designs for a mobile app. It was disappointing to receive a generic rejection letter after all the work was put into the presentation. In hindsight it felt like they wanted to seeing how much are you willing to sweat and contribute hours to show dedication to working for this agency. It's a terrible process.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your interviewing experience with us. We always appreciate receiving feedback as it helps us improve. We like to ask our candidates to work on a brief and present their solution to us as it's a fairer way of evaluating someone's skills than asking standard interview questions. We allow a few days to complete the brief as we understand everyone is busy but we only expect a few hours to be dedicated to it. However, we understand that it can be very disappointing to not make it to the next round of interviews after spending time and effort on a brief and presenting it to us. This can indeed be disheartening. We aim at providing feedback to the candidates when they don't pass the presentation so it remains a positive learning experience. We apologise if the feedback wasn't given to you as we understand that that might have felt like we didn't respect your time. Thanks again for your feedback and all the best in your design career.
