      QA Engineer Interview

      2 Sept 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Spokane, WA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Comprendo (Spokane, WA) in Aug 2017

      Interview

Three Interviews: One with the CEO, a project manager and the President. Interview 1 with the CEO was about an hour. We discussed the company, what it does, and what the QA position would entail. Nice guy, went well. Interview 2 was with a project manager and was about an hour. She explained a lot about the dynamic of the company, what it's like to work there and answered many questions about how the teams function. Very friendly lady, went well. Interview 3 with the president came after several days had passed. They asked if I would mind meeting on a Saturday, saying the president always met with candidates before an offer was extended. I hoped this meant I would receive one the following Monday. During that interview, he asking about contractor work and wondered if I had checked insurance rates in my state. I was confused, the ad stated the position was full time / permanent? I returned to the ad for the job to be sure - it says permanent and the word "contractor" is nowhere to be found. I was told they wanted a contractor for 90 days and then they would be 'working toward' full time. I am seeking a full time position but was unsure at this point if that could even happen. He promised by Monday morning he'd let me know of their decision. By 11am I had heard nothing so I wrote to say I was taking another position. They finally reached out at 5pm to say I was looking for something 'more stable' than they could give. The ad for this position was deceptive by labeling it as something it was not. I received an apology Email saying they didn't intend for the ad to be misleading and blamed the website they listed it on for not having a designated place to put this information. That's a poor excuse - A simple sentence within the description would have worked just fine. One last thing: They lied to me in the apology Email, saying they had decided to offer the position to someone else that weekend. I know this to be untrue because they accidentally forwarded me a communication between them on Monday, stemming from my Email, saying they needed to put an offer in to another candidate asap or else they'd have to start over looking at resumes.
