I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Community Consolidated School District #59 (Elk Grove Village, IL) in Aug 2019
Interview
Responded to an advertisement on indeed.com, filled out an application, added reference letters, provided professional and educational references, provided my resume, etc. Three days later, I received a call seeing if I wanted to set up a phone screening interview. Completed the phone interview, and was asked to set up a date/time to come in for an in-person interview - this happened two business days later. Completed the in-person interview with the coordinator of custodial and safety operations. Was told I would hear whether I was selected to fill the vacancy or not in the next few days. Was ultimately offered the position, pending physical examination/testing, and passing a background check. At that point, I was contacted the next day by someone in HR asking to set up a time to come in for fingerprinting, and was given the phone number to a local physical therapy office to set up the physical examination portion. I completed both of these steps within the week - results came in the next day, and I was officially offered the position. I accepted, gave two weeks notice at my former employer, and started working for District 59 after the two weeks. The whole process from responding to the advertisement for an opening and filling out the application to final offer was approximately two to two and a half weeks. I started working officially for District 59 approximately 4-5 weeks after applying for the position.
Describe a time in which you worked on a team to accomplish a goal/task...what role would you say you played in said group (leader, planner, implementer, peace-maker, etc.)

Interview
1. Applied online
2. Three days later, received a call from custodial/safety coordinator
3. On that call, I answered some background questions - this was a screening to find out if I qualified for a 1:1 interview
4. Two days later (Wednesday), received a call again from the custodial/safety coordinator to set up a 1:1 interview for the following Monday.
5. 1:1 interview
6. Three days later (Thursday), received a tentative offer of employment pending a physical, passing a physical test, background check, as well as I-9 work eligibility check from HR. Also on that call, was given contact information for Athletico in Elk Grove Village, IL (where the physical and phsyical testing was performed). I called Athletico that afternoon, and set up an appointment for the next morning (Friday).
7. Passed the physical and physical testing. Also received word I passed the background check. Plans were made for me to come in the next work day (Monday) to fill out I-9 paperwork, and assuming that went through, they would take my picture for my ID that day and set up a day for me to come in for orientation as well as my first official work day at a school.
8. Passed I-9 work eligibility screening (provided social security card and driver's license - very simple) - had my picture taken for my ID - which I would receive on Wednesday at orientation.
9. Went to a brief orientation with HR admin - it was just her going through a packet of information about benefits, salary/compensation schedule, as well as giving me a contact list of those in custodial/building maintenance/warehouse. Finally, went over probationary period, performance review schedule, as well as sick/vacation/personal days that would eventually be awarded to me upon successful completion of probation.
10. After 12-14 days or so, started working at a school in the district.
