Everyone I talked with was great- friendly, engaging, smart, asked good questions, etc. I enjoyed every interaction I had greatly. But the overall impression was negative because they were inconsistent with their communication, were flaky and unprofessional in their scheduling, and didn't follow through on follow up. Here's how it went:
After applying online, I heard back pretty quickly from an employee, who then set up an in-person interview with me. The morning of the interview, I woke up to an email saying that they weren't able to catch their flight because of car troubles, and so I was asked to change to a video interview at the originally scheduled time. Then shortly before that, I got an email saying that there were technical difficulties and we needed to reschedule. Strike 2. Once we did get the interview, it went GREAT! She was thorough in her questions, she gave great answers, she really painted a good picture of the role and the company.
She then scheduled a video interview with her and two other employees. Right before the interview, she let me know that she wouldn't be on it. So that was a surprise. Strike 3. That interview went well- both the interviewers were very professional and asked hard questions. There were technical glitches but that happens when everyone calls in virtually from home.
At the same time that that was scheduled, I was supposed to have an interview scheduled with another member as well, but that didn't happen til later. Stike 4 (this isn't baseball). That was probably my favorite interview though. This last member was kind, engaging, engaged, asked great questions, and left a lot of time for me to ask questions, which he answered very thoroughly. Really really encouraging interview.
Both the hiring manager and the last interviewer told me that I would be hearing what next steps are no matter what within a couple of days. It's been multiple weeks since the last interview, and still nothing. I've even emailed to follow up twice and nothing. Strike 5. Plus, a week after the last interview, I saw that they had reposted the job. Strike 6. Pretty unprofessional to just hide like that, after saying that they would give me a response either way. I know a lot of companies never respond after an interview, but they also don't tell you that they will. Comfort Keepers really disappointed me with their lack of professionalism. Great people and seems like a fun company with lots of opportunity for growth, but they're certainly not reliable, in my experience.
