      Learning and Development Manager Interview

      26 Nov 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Richmond, VA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at ColonialWebb (Richmond, VA) in Oct 2024

      Interview

The entire process moved at a glacial pace and appeared very disorganized. My experience with them spanned nearly 3 months from the time I applied, and after all that they still ended up reposting the position. Communication was minimal and unprofessional as updates were sent via casual text messages and their responses to my follow-up messages often took about a week or more. It took them over a month to request a screening call with me after I applied. After that, I followed up multiple times and was repeatedly told they would get back to me about next steps. After weeks of not receiving any updates, I followed up again and was eventually told that the job description had been slightly revised, prompting them to repost the position. The changes were negligible, with just two lines of text revised to reduce a few responsibilities, making it puzzling why the role was even reposted. However, even after reposting the position, they still would not provide me with any updates on my application, leaving me in limbo for over month after my initial screening call. Taking almost three months to screen candidates, only to repost the position over minor edits to the role, is a glaring red flag that highlights leadership indecisiveness and poor planning in their organization. While I understand they want to make sure they hire the right candidate, their disorganized process and poor communication reflect poorly on their company and leave a negative impression with perceptive candidates. For these reasons, I ultimately withdrew my application and moved forward with another job offer, where the entire hiring process was smooth and took only a couple of weeks.
