I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at College Board in Jan 2023
Interview
Interview process was straightforward and well organized: - Recruiter screen (30 min) - Technical interview (1 hr) - Second technical interview (1 hr) - Manager round (30 min) - VP round (30 min) First technical interview was pretty easy, mostly fundamental js questions that you've probably seen before if you're front end. The second technical interview was more difficult. I couldn't recall any design patterns despite using them on a regular basis. That's on me, but it resulted in them trying to downlevel me to senior with a "path to move forward" which I ultimately declined. I've been a lead for 4 years at my current employer. Ain't gonna hurt my career like that to work on a high pressure project when other companies are willing to offer me the lead position and better pay. It's a shame because I did like everyone I interviewed with. I was never asked fundamental questions about web development, which surprised me considering the position. Zero questions about CSS, accessibility, or how the browser renders HTML. HM and VP rounds centered on behavioral and business-related questions.
