      Asset Manager Interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at ColRich (San Diego, CA) in Jun 2025

      Interview

I interviewed for an Asset Manager role at ColRich and initially felt excited about the opportunity. The team was experienced and clearly passionate about their work. However, it became apparent during the interview that work-life balance is not part of the culture here. I mentioned the importance of being able to attend occasional school events for my children—while also making it clear that I’m willing to work early, stay late, and give 100% to the role. Unfortunately, that seemed to disqualify me. One of the senior team members even shared that an employee with four children doesn't get to attend any of their events. That comment stuck with me—it was said casually, but it reflected a bigger truth about the company culture. ColRich seems to value relentless commitment to work above all else, including family. If you're someone without outside obligations or who doesn’t mind missing out on major life moments, you may thrive here. But if you’re looking for a company that supports both professional success and a healthy personal life, this may not be the right fit.
