I applied for their Tier 3 Technical Support role, for which they set up an interview with me. However, two days before the interview, they sent me a message saying the role was filled, but they wouldn't mind interviewing me for a Tier 2 Support Contractor role that was paying ~30% less. I agreed and had the first interview. Quickly progressed to next level, had an interview with a current employee. They asked me about 8 questions they read off the screen, and even asked the same question twice at some point. The same person told me they were a contractor before, got laid off, a year later got rehired. It goes to show how volatile the company is. Quickly after the interview, I received an email saying I would receive a take home assignment and then set a 45 minute interview to present my assignment. The assignment had vague scenario questions and a product feedback section (what would you improve on CoinTracker?)
I have years of experience in similar roles, and believe to have answered very empathetically and with the customer first mindset. However, 24 hours before the interview, I receive an email stating they are not moving forward with my candidacy. Which to me feels absurd. Not that they are not moving forward; but the construction of this whole interview process. The next steps were to talk to yet 2 other contractor employees, then the hiring manager, then a co-founder? I understand cointracker is a small company with fewer than 100 employees (especially compared to my past employers such as Binance and Kraken) but I agree with the commenters on glassdoor that this is a company to stay away from. Don't go through the ridiculous interview process here. Go touch grass instead.
