I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Cognizant (Calcutta) in Nov 2021
Interview
The overall interview process with Cognizant was smooth and well-organized, conducted completely online.
Format: Virtual interview
Type of Questions:
Technical questions focused on core concepts related to the specific technology stack
Scenario-based questions that tested real-world problem-solving skills, especially around testing methodologies and QA concepts
The panel was professional and made the experience comfortable. It felt more like a discussion than a formal interrogation, which really helped me stay at ease throughout the process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They primarily focus on your knowledge of the specific tool or technology you’ll be working on. The questions generally start with basic concepts to assess your foundational understanding and then gradually move toward more complex, scenario-based questions. You can also expect a fair mix of questions related to software testing principles, real-time project situations, and how you approach problem-solving. Overall, the interview is structured to evaluate both your technical depth and practical application skills.

I applied online. I interviewed at Cognizant (Hyderābād) in Dec 2024
Interview
The interviewer asked most of the questions from resume and she doesn't even understand the difference between my previous employer and client also the interview should be more technical to Power BI but she revealed that she is looking for a person in Power apps. Question to Cognizant is why did they even conducted this interview when you are looking for other skills rather than Power BI which I clearly mentioned in the resume more over the technical questions should be asked based on experience the questions i was asked were not even basics and I expect to have asked more difficult questions in Power BI when I'm about to get hired. Loss on you.
It was 1.5 hours interview with first half of taken by one interview and for the rest 2 more interviewers joined. All rounds done in one interview, post which HR call was there. Pretty quick.
