Just interviewed with cogency global for a quasi paralegal role. I told their talent acquisition specialist that I would need to work 8-4pm. He stated no problem. Also told him my salary requirements. Also said no problem. I go to interview. Meeting with manager went great. She then went to get her boss to “say hi” at which point she tries to play hardball, salary is too high. Can’t work the shift I want because quote “people with tenure want that schedule and can’t have it and I can’t give it to you just because you have a child. Since you have such childcare needs I don’t think this will work out” soooo literally was just discriminated against for being a parent? Cool. I called the HR person after I left and told him what went down. He wasn’t happy. Don’t work here.
