Disrespectful Interview Experience: I had a disappointing experience during my first screening interview with the CTO. While I was answering a question, he unexpectedly started laughing. I was taken aback and politely asked why, as it felt disrespectful in a professional setting. Although he apologized, he abruptly ended the interview, stating I wasn’t a good fit.
Frankly, I was already considering ending the interview myself due to his dismissive demeanor. If this behavior reflects the leadership style at the company, it raises concerns about the overall culture.
1 I had a 30-minute chat with the recruiter.
2 I had a 30-minute chat with the engineering manager.
3 I was given a take-home assignment.
4 I received an automated rejection email.
The assignment was a regular 2-screen Android assignment that took me 4-5 hours to complete. Some people might take a day or two to finish it.
Since I was referred to the position, I was promised feedback. However, they rejected me with an automated email.
I do not recommend interviewing with this company, as they do not value candidates' time and efforts. The short interview calls demonstrate their lack of interest in getting to know the candidate.
