Initially, my interaction with the hiring team was unconventional. Instead of a traditional interview, he had me review notes via screenshare on my ‘candidate package’, which was unexpected. It seemed the recruitment for this role was initially paused until my referral came through.
The recruitment process appeared somewhat disorganized. For instance, when I inquired about the interview process and who I would be meeting, the hiring team was unable to provide clear answers, vaguely mentioning meetings with 8-9 people. This, he hinted, was reflective of the decision-making process at the company.
After a six-week gap with no communication, the recruiter contacted me urgently, wanting to revise my candidate package to emphasize my ‘end-to-end marketing experience’. It was mentioned that he was often not privy to decision-making discussions, which might explain the changes and delays in the process.
The scheduling with more of the hiring team was mostly smooth, although there were a couple of reschedules. However, a meeting with the hiring manager was abruptly postponed an hour before the scheduled time and was never rescheduled despite my follow-ups—ghosted.
Ultimately not a great fit.
