I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Clos LaChance Winery (San Martin, CA) in Apr 2014
Interview
There were 2 interviews: one with the tasting room manager and one with the owner of the winery. The interviews were on different days, but within a few days of each other. There is also a backgound check which you must pass for them to offer a job. This was done very quickly after the interviews and the offer was made the following day.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Their primary interest is to make sure that you will be committed to providing excellent customer service and will properly represent the values of the family owners of the winery. They will ask how you would handle certain situations that may occur. They will also ask about your wine knowledge, although this seemed less important to them that the hospitality attitude. Also, it is important that you are able to work some weekends and evenings.
