Overview of the Process The overall interview process for this entry-level Human Resources Assistant role was excessively long and disproportionate to the position’s salary level (which is slightly above minimum wage).
The full process took approximately one month and involved the following steps:
1. Initial Phone Screen
2. Second Zoom Interview
3. Third/Final Interview (with VP of HR)
4. Reference Checks (completed quickly)
While the individual interviewers were engaging and professional, the overall process management was inefficient and disrespectful of the candidate's time.
• The required time commitment of three full-stage interviews is inappropriate for an entry-level position.
• The final rejection was a highly generic, automated email that offered absolutely no specific, actionable feedback on where my candidacy could have been improved.
For a position of this type, a two-stage interview process is more appropriate. Additionally, when a candidate invests over a month of their time, a personalized rejection with specific, constructive feedback should be the standard.
