I received a call a few days after applying and was asked if I had a brief moment to answer a few "screener" questions. Thinking it was only going to go over the posting, my application, and entry-level questions that come with asking for a "brief moment", I was happy to take the call and chat.
After 3-4 minutes of brief questions that were mostly as described above, the interviewer proceeded to conduct a full interview that spanned almost an hour. At no point was I told this was going to happen and at no point was I given a chance to voice that I was currently working at my current job and would like the opportunity to reschedule during a more appropriate time.
The questions asked were comprehensive and exhaustive - exactly what I would have expected from Cirrus, just not after being called in the middle of a work day and asked to answer "screener" questions that turned into a full-blown interview. Questions touched on subjects such as managing customers, how I would deal with employee abuse of the aircraft scheduling system, and other questions that spanned from pointedly specific subjects to more broad subjects.
Admittedly, I was ill-prepared for the interview, and I would have asked for an opportunity to reschedule for a more appropriate time had it been offered or had I known of the depths the interview would reach. Instead, I was rushed through a series of questions that essentially asked me to distill my entire professional career and abilities into less than 60 minutes - a task that takes preparation.
Within 24 hours of the call concluding, I received an email informing me that I was not selected.
