I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at CircleCI in Jan 2021
Interview
The process started with a call with the recruiter to go over background and if the skills matched. The next interview was scheduled with the hiring manager who was really easy to speak with. Very informal and relaxed interview covering previous jobs and experiences with customers.
Next there was a take home challenge which were a couple of exercises and a small project. A meeting was scheduled afterwards with the team lead to go over the challenge and live problem solving round. This interview is rather short and a simple exercise to gauge your knowledge. Interview was informal and the interviewer really makes you feel relaxed.
For the last round, three interviews are scheduled with colleagues from your team and two from sister teams. Again, relaxed interviews mostly covering background, culture fit, hr related questions and your customer support background.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
- Recruiter call: Background
- Hiring Manager: Background, customer support experience, past experience
- Take home challenge
- Demo and live challenge with Team Lead
- 3 final round interviews with colleagues from the team and sister teams.
I applied online. I interviewed at CircleCI in Nov 2020
Interview
Pretty standard. Initial screening w/ recuiter (I applied directly), interview with hiring manager, take home tech challenge, review w/ tech lead and then live tech demonstration (very low stress). Three more "final" interviews with a peer, and two colleagues from different departments that this role regularly works with.
Hiring manger was rather dry, and started off the interview with a rather awkward statement about missing skills from resume. Pretty immediate turn off to the role.
Subsequent interviews (four of them) all asked the same 8 HR-standard questions, which was rather frustrating, since then there was little time leftover to ask your own questions, day in the life etc.

Question 1
How do you work competing deadlines and stress from multiple customers at once?
