I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Chewy (Seattle, WA) in Feb 2025
Interview
1) Hiring Manager: Past experience
2) Virtual Loop:
- System Design Round: No actual sys design, just verbal question
- Behavioural x 2 : On their operating principles, they are not data enigineers, and will ask question which are out of scope for data engineerings, like ML, Agents, etc.
- Coding: Python
I got a email to schedule interview and after sending dates. They vanished and not even an email saying they moved on. This is weird. And never applied here again
After one recruiter call, I was ghosted. Chewy leadership felt reminiscent of a notoriously toxic big tech culture. Disorganized process, poor follow-up. Applicants should reconsider investing time here at all cost.
