I applied online. I interviewed at Chess Gaja (New Delhi) in May 2026
Interview
The interview process happens in 3 phases - an AI interview round, a Manager round and then a Founder round. Questions were easy to moderately difficult and were practical and related to the role that I was interviewing for.
My only grief remains with the final round when I faced an unforeseeable technical issue with my network adapter, affecting the audio/video stream. While the founder explicitly stated during the brief call that the team would follow up with an update or a potential reschedule, no further communication was ever received.
It was highly disappointing to be dropped from the final round due to an unforeseeable technical problem, despite having cleared all the previous rounds, and also fixing my setup within an hour.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
If you had a cake and you have to divide it among 8 people, but with only 3 cuts, how will you do that?
Thank you for taking the time to review our interview process. We apologize for failing to send you a final update following your technical issues.
During our scheduled call, we waited 10 minutes for the connectivity problems to be resolved. Because we were on a tight hiring timeline and concluded our final rounds immediately after, we extended an offer to another candidate and closed the position.
We apologize that this decision wasn't communicated to you as promised. Your experience helps us recognize where our communication fell short, and we are addressing this with our team to ensure it doesn't happen again. We wish you the best of luck in your job search.
