I was contacted initially by a woman in HR. We had a great conversation, she seemed very interested in me and wanted to put me in touch with the creative director to go over more specifics. I spoke to the director later that same day and had a great conversation with her as well. She was very enthusiastic about my work and asked me to complete a project to showcase my skills for their company. I agreed as I really wanted to be considered for the position. I was sent the project specs later that day and given a week to complete it. I was immediately regretful of taking the project on...they wanted an immense amount of work. This was no tiny project and I ended up spending about 30hrs over the course of the week completing it and submitting it via email by their stringent deadline. You can imagine my frustration then when I never heard back from them. I sent several follow up emails (as I was hearing back from other employers and needed to make a decision) that were not returned until my final email to them letting them know my disappointment. I got an email back from another woman in HR simply stating that the original woman I had spoken to no longer works there....sketchy to say the least. The bottom line is that it is incredibly unprofessional to ask candidates to complete this amount of work and not at least give feedback. I will be checking their website to make sure my work has not been ripped off. Shady and unprofessional.
