I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Charles Schwab in Feb 2016
Interview
The initial step was an interview screening and application. A personality assessment was given to determine basic fit into Charles Schwab.
The first round interview was without a Talent Advisor, who discusses the program with you and walks through your resume asking basic behavioral questions, your interest in Charles Schwab and the Academy. This first interview lasted about 30 minutes. From there, if you continue on the interview process, your Talent Advisor will be with you every step of the way.
The second round interview was an hour long video chat with two hiring managers from the branch that you are applying for. The two hiring managers really get down into more specific behavioral questions like "name a time when...", "explain the Academy program", "your customer service experience", and "growth and commitment to Charles Schwab". These two interviewers are looking to see if you are still a better fit to be part of this company. They also will be looking to see if you are willing to commit to Charles Schwab in the long term, so make sure to express that interest as well.
The third round was 30-40 minutes with a branch manager over the phone. This interview was really just a conversation with the branch manager, talking more about yourself and hearing about the program in even more depth. From what I understood was that if you passed the hiring manager interview, the branch manager was just looking to see if you were as good a fit for Charles Schwab as Charles Schwab is for you. After this conversation, you will really tell if you have been given an unofficial offer.
From there, the Talent Advisor will reach out to you regarding the background check and drug test processes. This should take about 1-2 weeks and is the final step before the final offer is made.
The entire process for me took about 6 weeks.
