I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at CertainPath (Dallas, TX) in Aug 2023
Interview
The interviews with the VP of Engineering were great. He focused on the right things, did a high level of collaboration and was very friendly. I really appreciated his depth and approach to using more practical technical assessment rather than a more typical complex algorithmic test, which we all know is not what we do on the job. After doing well in those technical interviews, I do think CertainPath should reconsider their old school approach to having candidates go on site for the final interview before getting a job offer. Considering the role was 100% remote with some travel, a better example of working with that candidate would be a remote experience anyway. I was pretty disappointed when they had me travel only to choose another candidate that cost significantly less to them. No hard feelings, I just think you may actually get a better result from remote candidates to interact with them remotely anyway. I was certainly off my typical game after traveling.

Question 1
Best practices, solid principles, test driven development, working with difficult co-workers, how did you handle working with a junior engineer that "just wasn't cutting it."
