      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Centene

      Interview

Just another company I'm not the least impressed with, especially after reading more horror stories of the culture and burn out from existing employees. Happy I did not make it to the in person interview stage. I was more than qualified for the position, and find it beyond funny that they hired a past co-worker of mine over a year ago, into a different position, who was known at our company as being tremendously challenged in a myriad of ways and was fired from our company. The first HR person who contacted me from California seemed well organized and intelligent. Then there was an interview with a group of younger people who all came off as haughty and stressed out. One of them was so insecure and overbearing, she seemed more focused on trying to find a catch or flaw in anything I was communicating, instead of getting to know me and my successful, diligent, thoughtful, accomplished skill set, work ethic, and character. Although I was well prepared, enthusiastic, and clearly a great fit during the phone interview, I realized later that I was not necessarily a good 'cultural fit' due to my age (a very young over 50). The 2nd HR person in St. Louis, who I contacted over and over to touch base and see if I would be moving on to an in person interview, never bothered to even email me back to let me know if they hired someone else, or what was going on. After all is said and done, I would never want to work at Centene. I am far from impressed with, well, everything.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Asked how I would deal with upper management in a meeting who would be very difficult to get along with.
