      Senior Software Engineer Interview

      29 May 2010
      Anonymous employee
      Mountain View, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Cast Iron Systems (Mountain View, CA) in Feb 2008

      Interview

It was a fairly standard technical interview process for a software position. I was interviewed by 4 people, in sequence, about 30 minutes each. I was interviewing for a primarily UI development position, so the two interviewers with UI expertise focused on Java Swing, whereas the two server-side developers focused on basic Java and computer science questions. I did not find the interviews to be particularly challenging. I was also shown a quick demo of the product.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Was asked how I would implement the layout for a GUI panel in Swing.
