I was contacted by a Carrier recruiting representative through private message on LinkedIn. My profile does say that I am open to offers but not actively looking for employment. The recruiter stated they were impressed with my experience and an excellent fit for their position. After stating an issue that may affect my candidacy for the position I was assured it wouldn't be an issue and asked to fill out an application through their portal and schedule a call to discuss things further. Their application was the typical 30 minutes of copy and pasting your resume and repeating all the information readily available on my LinkedIn profile which is always slightly annoying. In today's age an uploaded resume or LinkedIn quick apply should suffice until final interviews. We scheduled a time for a call which the recruiter missed wasting roughly another 20 minutes of my time. The recruiter contacted me apologized and we set up another call time for the next day. Over night that night 3:20 am to be exact I received an email stating that carrier had reviewed my application and would not be moving forward with the interview process. I never received a direct message from the recruiter where the contact had been taking place or a call during the again scheduled time. This is a very unprofessional way to operate.
