      Subsea Engineer Interview

      10 Nov 2011
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Houston, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Cameron (Houston, TX) in Nov 2011

      Interview

Interviewed on campus which was 1:1. This interview was easy and was just conversational/talking about your resume. Got the email to come down to Houston, TX for a second round interview. The interview was very unorganized. It gives Cameron a bad name. I thought that it might have just been because of the HR lady who organized it (or lack there of) but a friend of mine who interned with Cameron before also said that they say first hand how unorganized Cameron can be. Moving on, the first day the candidates arrived, we toured the R&D facility and then had dinner with employees who were in the middle of the rotational training program. The next day we arrived and the candidates were split into two groups to make the interview process faster. The first group ( which I was in ) went upstairs where we each had three 1:1 interviews with managers. Then we went downstairs where we took a test that was was 7-10 problems over things covered in Solid Mechanics. We were then taken one by one to another room where we did our presentation ( which we were asked to prepare before arriving, this presentation is about you and your achievements ). Finally, we did the group activity where we gathered around a table with a manager who led us through a group discussion/activity in using Cameron subsea equipment to drill an underwater well. Just ask a lot of questions during this part. Overall, Cameron seems to be an okay company but some people who interviewed the candidates were not very nice and welcoming. Overall, this made me not want to work for the subsea division.
