I originally applied for one position but in the interview it was clear I wasn't suited but they liked my experienced and offered to create a role for me. Their idea for the role was rather undefined so it took several discussions to understand what they were looking for. When it came to agreeing terms, we agreed upon the base salary but I enquired if there were any other benefits. After a week not hearing from them, I got one line replies about my questions in which they offered less holiday than i currently had, less pension, no work from home (despite the pandemic) and no medical insurance. I countered asking for a slightly higher pay to compensate for these benefits I'd be losing and instead of negotiating or simply stating that they did not want to negotiate these terms, they said the interview process was taking too long and they were rescinding their offer.
