I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at California School Employees Association (New York, NY) in Aug 2019
Interview
Phone Interview
2 part panel interview:
1st panel: Skills Test including a fake email prioritization test (40 mins) and a written test regarding (60 mins)
2nd panel: a test on presentation (which I didn't make it to)
I sailed through the phone interview. Some negative things mentioned in the interview "Every LRR has to represent at least 3-20 chapters. We have a great benefits package, 2 and a half weeks of vacation"
The 2nd interview lasted about 3 hours. It was the hardest interview I ever auditioned for. There was 4 ladies. I charmed them besides one lady who was trying to intimidate me through the entire interview. She had insulting lack of professionalism for someone who claims to represent workers.
There was two parts to the 2nd interview: an email prioritization task and a written test. The email prioritization task included reading and organizing fake emails printed out in a stack and had to be completed in 45 minutes. Then you have to present why you organized the emails the way you did. There are rules that you have to follow regarding member to member complaints but they only vaguely tell you and assume that you got that when they explained it to you.

Interview
Three part interview process: phone screening, zoom exam, and panel interview. I made it through the panel and then was informed by automated message (not even from the HR person I had been corresponding with the entire time) that I was not selected. Later I learned that I was never eligible for the position anyway, as a transfer from a different CSEA branch was hired instead. Not sure why I was strung along through each step if a current employee already had the job. Insulting
