I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at CTO Labs (Sydney)
Interview
Interview Experience Summary
I had a positive experience during the interview process, which consisted of three stages:
Technical Interview
I was asked all the relevant questions.
There was a pairing code challenge, which I found to be straightforward.
I answered technical questions related to Node.js, React, and AWS.
Cultural Interview
In the cultural interview, I spoke with two different interviewers. I explained my perspective on what constitutes a good workplace culture, and they agreed that it aligns with their values. One of the interviewers emphasized the importance of quality over quantity, which resonated with me.
Overall Process
The entire process was completed in just five days, and I received my offer letter on the sixth day. My notice period was six weeks, which they had no issues accommodating. They also allowed me to take a few days off before my start date.
The process took 6 days. I interviewed at CTO Labs in Oct 2022
Interview
Whole process end to end includes 4 interviews. 3 with partners of the business and then 1 with a peer to ensure cultural alignment. I personally didn’t get an offer as I questioned their revenue to ensure they are a profitable business. Was the favorite candidate until I probed the hard questions.
They are going thru massive growth phase, just need to ensure they understand, growing the business comes with growing pains.
I personally wasn’t prepared to sign as they didn’t have their ducks in order. Such as commission plan, bonuses, etc.
They also don’t have an office to collaborate in person. Everything is done remote, so for new starters in the industry; would be hard to learn the trade.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Dependent on each partner, various strange questions. 1 partner had questions around motivation and process. Another partner wanted to know how you handle
Resilience and get deals thru the door. Final partner - very strange but wierd, started conversations with 6-7 negative (weakness) questions
