      Accountant Interview

      29 Dec 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at CIVIE

      Interview

First round was with an HR employee, brief conversation about experiences and skills, and then a few job specific questions. Heard back a few days later to set up a technical interview with the controller the position would be reporting to. Set that up, but then was told it needed to be rescheduled, so it took place roughly two weeks after my initial interview. This interview was close to an hour long and very conversational and felt it went well. I was excited about the role and was told I’d hear back by the end of the week if they wanted to continue on. Got an email a little over a week later to set up another interview, this time with the controller and the CFO. This interview was about thirty minutes long and felt redundant, but certain things he would hone in on that didn’t seem important or related to the job, and he wasn’t nearly as personable as the HR rep or the controller. Near the end they said I would hear back soon. I followed up with a thank you email a few days later, then weeks and weeks went by and I heard nothing. The whole three round interview process took over a month, and then to be completely ghosted after all of that felt incredibly disrespectful and a waste of my time. If you’re going to put people through so many rounds of interviews, at least have the courtesy to send a simple email saying you are going with another candidate.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at CIVIE (Dallas, TX) in Aug 2021

      Interview

I applied online and was contacted by the recruiter for the initial screen. She followed up with an invite to speak with the then-current controller, after which I spoke with the hiring manager. Even though I did not get an offer, he called me personally to deliver the news. The process was quick and transparent. It appears that the hiring is set up in an efficient and streamlined manner, and the decisions are made quickly. I strongly recommend trying your luck with them, it appeared like a great workplace with a lot of respect for candidates.
