1st recruiter emailed to coordinate a call
2nd sent an invite to an interview with the hiring manager. I was told about the role, and was asked perhaps 2 questions.
3rd in-person interview with the entire team to present a 10-minute training session on a topic. Scheduled for 30 minutes where the interview started late, and was asked several questions on the topic presented. Was told I could ask one or two questions so the interview could wrap up on schedule.
4th the recruiter informed me of rejection
5th the recruiter reached out a month later to say that they were ready to resume the hiring process. However, the job would now be on-site 4 days a week.
6th a new recruiter reached out and asked if I was still open to the opportunity. I declined.
Overall a chaotic process
I applied online. I interviewed at CI Financial (Toronto, ON) in Mar 2026
Interview
The interview process was very brief and consisted of a short conversation. Based on my experience, it did not feel like there was a genuine intent to fill the position at the time. The interaction seemed more aligned with gathering information rather than actively recruiting for an open role.
Overall, the process lacked depth, and I would have appreciated more clarity regarding the status and urgency of the hiring need.
Describe the interview process* The interview process typically consists of multiple stages designed to assess a candidate’s technical skills, experience, and cultural fit. It usually begins with an initial screening, followed by technical or role-specific evaluations, and concludes with final discussions and decision-making.
