After 1 complete application (CV, Cover letter, references), a contact in a career fair, a 1-hour get-to-know call, 1 long case study, one final call + presentation of my work with 4 senior management people (3 weeks process), I get an automatized unpersonal email for rejection. Not a single explanation, 0 feedback, not a call, not any respect from my time. After 2 sentences of rejection, they dare give me the most ironic thing: a voucher that I can use to rent a car on their platform, what a super nice gesture! Bigger irony, they republish the job offer one week later.
If I am not a good fit for the job, it is completely ok, it is part of the game. But, a few advice:
- Give me one feedback instead of voucher
- Be honest, don't tell me that you chose another candidate as I have LinkedIn and receive alerts for job offers
- Be human!
If you treat your candidates like this, that says long on how you treat your talent, good luck growing your team!
